Besides male and female gender in your facebook account you
can also see another option to choose custom probably for the members who
preferred the opposite gender on their profile. But that was before, now that
LGBT or Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender are now given an equal right with
a growing number of countries supporting their right to get married, now
Facebook is also stepping to support them with their chosen gender.
Not 2 or 3 but 58 genders to be chosen which you can see

I can’t understand other gender labels here and why they
come up with so many numbers to tell a gender of a person isn't it too much and
overkill to express your gender with the following options. I also wonder if
anyone will be brave enough to boast these genders to be seen by their friends,
and get some exposure on their newsfeed which tickle the mind of their friends,
by commenting and liking.
Meanwhile, LGBT community should be happy with this news as
they also have been recognized by the management and software engineer of
Facebook.
